DAS Representative Payee Program https://www.sfhsa.org/services/protection-safety/public-guardian%C2%A0public-conservator-public-administrator-and#payee provides financial management services to older adults and adults with disabilities who cannot independently manage their SSA or SSI payments, and other public benefits. Applicants must be referred by their case manager. 415-355-3555.

 

Conard House https://conardhouse.org/community-services provides Representative Payee and Money Management services to adult residents of SF. Contact email reppayee@conard.org

Representative Payee service program provides benefit payment management for beneficiaries who find it challenging to manage their SSA or SSI payments.

  • Mandatory: SSA mandated individuals are eligible.

  • Voluntary: Any individual who is recommended by a licensed clinician through SSA-787 form (Medical Source Opinion of Patient’s Capability to Manage Benefits) where applicant agrees to participate.

Money Management assists consumers in management of income and assets. This may include, but not limited to, payment of rent and utilities, purchase of food/necessities, and payment of insurance premiums/deductibles/co-payments.

 

HealthRight360 https://www.healthright360.org/program/representative-payee-services provides Representative Payee services to individuals who receive financial benefits from SSI or SSA. Additional services include helping to prevent or end financial exploitation; benefits advocacy with SSA; managing overpayments; re-determining benefits; and other matters involving participant fiscal needs. 415-762-1496.

Lutheran Social Services (LSS) of Northern California https://www.lssnorcal.org/what_we_do/san-francisco-programs/money-management/integrated-services.html provides representative payee and money management services. LSS assists adults in setting financial goals, help with budgeting, entitlement assistance, and referrals for other supportive services. Eligibility requires all of following:

  • Age 18+

  • Income < 400% FPL  

  • Formerly homeless, as defined by Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

  • Resident of one of the buildings: Canon Kip, Rose, Cambridge, Hamlin, Apollo, Altamont, and South Park

  • Have a case manager, either at housing site or from outside service provider, who will provide more extensive case management services.

Tenderloin Housing Clinic (THC) Money Management https://www.thclinic.org/program/money-management/ ensures participants meet their monthly basic needs for shelter, food, clothing, and daily living expenses; assists clients with personal budgeting, prioritizing expenses, paying rent and other bills on client’s behalf, saving money for client; advocate on behalf of clients applying for, or receiving benefits from, SSA, including requests for re-determination of benefits and managing overpayments.
